Scots help for teachers
29th August 2013
Teachers, adult learners, and others in the community, are often hard-pressed to find people to advise, guide and teach the Scots language, for lack of institutional support or funding, but there are a few dedicated individuals out there. One of these people is Lilian Ross. Lilian is available to give practical help to teachers who are interested in teaching children about Scots, the largest older indigenous language of Scotland. She does so through storytelling, songs and activities including workshops. Lilian, who was raised in a Scots-speaking community, has many years of experience in this area and has organised workshops in schools and community-based organisations in various parts of Scotland. If you would like to find out more about Lilian’s work or how to hire here services please contact her directly on liliananne_ross@yahoo.co.uk . Sessions cost £150, but the cost may be offset by up to 50% if interested parties apply before 30 September 2013 (for projects taking place during the period 1 December 2013 – 31 March 2014) to the Scottish Book Trust Live Literature Fund. Please contact the Scottish Book Trust by phone 0131 524 0160 or visit http://www.lilianross.com.
