Banff Academy Scots

Banff Academy and Elphinstone Institute (part of the University of Aberdeen) have been working in partnership to study the effect of learning Scots. Banff Academy’s Jamie Fairbairn has taught the Scots Language Award there for a number of years, and PHD student Claire Needler is researching the pupils’ contemporary use of Scots. Learning materials success

The Scots Language Centre’s new learning materials, at www.scotslanguagecentre.com/learning, have been successfully launched with over 1500 visitors, including 600 learners who have completed over 900 activities.

The learning activities are continually being updated and enhanced, and the team behind the materials are keen to respond to any feedback and suggestions for improvement. Please email any feedback to education@scotslanguage.com

 

Education Scotland Teaching resources

Education Scotland's National Improvement Hub has teaching resources designed to tie in with University of Glasgow's Scots thesaurus. The activities focus on Scots weather words, and include reading and writing activities.
